Platelet-Rich Fibrin and Plasma in Murray, UT
PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is derived from blood. A small amount of blood is drawn and the blood is then placed into a centrifuge. During the centrifugation process, the red blood cells, white blood cells, and other inflammatory cytokines are separated from plasma, which contains platelets along with several platelet derived growth factors. Once the Platelet-Rich Fibrin is separated, it is drawn up into a syringe and either microneedled into the skin, injected in the face or hair.

FAQ
Q: What is Bio-gel?
A: Bio- gel is a natural alternative to dermal fillers. It is made from your own blood which is processed through a centrifuge until a gel substance is formed.
Q: What is the difference between bio-gel and PRF?
A: Biogel takes all the benefits of PRF and enhances them by combining them with albumin gel also spun from your blood. When these are combined, the gel allows for a longer release of growth factors and collagen stimulation for the tissue lasting 2-6 months, vs around 2 weeks with standard PRF. The gel created by this mixture also provides a soft, filler like substance that will provide soft structure and support to the skin and tissue where it is injected.
Q: Is there downtime?
A: Bruising and swelling is possible after injection but typically there is little to no downtime after bio-gel.

FAQ
Q: Can I wash my hair after PRF?
A: Do Not wash your hair or use direct shower pressure to scalp for 24 hours. After 24 hours you may gently wash your hair for the first 72 hours.
Q: What type of hair loss does PRF treat?
A: PRF injections have been clinically proven to be effective in reversing both male and female hair loss. PRF can also treat thinning hair due to iron deficiency, metabolic causes, telogen effluvium and medication. There are a few circumstances in which hair loss cannot be treated successfully with PRF. This includes a medical condition known as scarring alopecia as well as any hair loss where the follicles are permanently damaged/inactive, or skin has grown over the follicles.
Q: Is PRF permanent?
A: This treatment is a natural approach for treating hair thinning and does stimulate thicker, new hair growth. However, we normally shed hundreds of hairs a day, and this includes any new hair growth from PRF treatment. Although the new hair growth is not “permanent,” by continuing maintenance treatments and our recommended Nutrafol supplements, you can maintain a healthy amount of new hair growth.
